For those that do militia or milice personnas, does your personna carry a sword, a hawk or a hatchet?

The milicien would carry a casse-tete (tomahawk or small axe), he would typically carry it in his sash as they were not issued belts to carry them. May I suggest you try to find a copy of Steve Delisle's book "Equipment of New France Militia".

I plan on joining the Donegal Township Riflemen's milice group. Ran into them a lot this fall and they were really helpful and encouraging.

Steve, I should run into you sometime in the future, our units will form up together from time to time. Their unit Milice del Belle Riviere is from eastern PA and ours Milice du Garrison de Fort LeBoeuf is from western PA.
